Hugh Scott served 20 years as a Regular Army officer, including two years in Vietnam with U.S. (S-3, 5th Battalion, 12th Infantry, 199th Light Infantry Brigade "Redcatchers") and ARVN infantry units. Following his army career, he held senior financial management positions in the San Francisco Bay Area and taught finance in graduate degree programs at private universities.
His formal education includes a BA, Journalism from San Jose State University and an MBA from Syracuse University. He also is an honor graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
Saigon Gold is his debut novel. The Gioi Publishers, Vietnam's foreign language publishing house in Hanoi, published a separate edition for readers in that country.
