Too Good to be True?
"You could establish a Vietnamese charity by yourself." Anderson was intrigued by the idea. "How large--?" "Is fifteen percent satisfactory?" Dinh smiled, knowing it would be.
Camargue at #16 Cao Ba Quat

Did Anderson hear the man correctly? $15 million in return for being the middle-man in a no-risk scheme to raise a fortune in gold from the bottom of the Saigon River and sell it to nervous Taiwanese for safe-keeping in the U.S.? Let's have another cognac on that one!

Camargue (named for a district in France ) consistently ranks among the finest French restaurants in Saigon. It's a short walk from the Caravelle Hotel. But be forewarned that the narrow, cobblestone streets in the Old French Quarter are poorly illuminated after darkness. Like Anderson, you'd better watch your step on the way back, because you might be surprised by who is lurking in the shadows.
